ABOUT US

WITH-CYBER

The CSU Workforce Innovation Technology Hubs (WITH) project is a statewide cybersecurity workforce initiative led by California State University, San Bernardino (CSUSB), in strategic partnership with Fresno State and San José State University.

Funded through California’s Cybersecurity Regional Alliance and Multistakeholder Partnership Pilot Program, the WITH project invests $2 million in CSUSB’s leadership efforts and $1 million each in Fresno State and San José State for their regional collaborations. Funding is secured through December 2026 under the California Education Code and Assembly Bill 569.

These three universities were selected by the California State University Office of the Chancellor for their recognized excellence in advancing cybersecurity education and workforce development.

  • CSUSB, designated as a National Center of Academic Excellence in Cybersecurity, serves as the project’s lead campus, guiding statewide coordination and implementation.

  • Fresno State contributes through its engagement with the California Governor’s Cybersecurity Task Force within the Office of Emergency Services, supporting policy and emergency response integration.

  • San José State University strengthens industry connections through its production of top-tier security engineers in the heart of Silicon Valley.

WITH Cyber’s mission is to build a connected and resilient cyber workforce pipeline across California. The project develops strategies to strengthen regional alliances, foster multi-stakeholder partnerships, and expand access to education and training across all 23 CSU campuses.

By engaging K–12 schools, community colleges, and university partners statewide, WITH Cyber creates clear pathways into cybersecurity careers. Through research, apprenticeships, mentorship, and outreach, the initiative helps students gain the knowledge, experience, and professional connections needed to thrive in California’s growing cybersecurity sector.
